I am in love with my Body.

This year I have started all new habits. Not new new to me, but new habits for the year. One of which is affirmations.
I found this fantastic YouTube video with "I am" affirmations and as instructed, I have been listening and repeating the affirmations including "I am in love with my body."
Thanks to the consistent repetition with my "I am" affirmations, this is a new script that comes to mind instead of negative self talk. I was never used to saying that about myself but I caught myself saying it a couple of times this morning as I was having other thoughts about my body. Thoughts that started to arise due to a major shift.
My grandpa just passed away. It was expected, not that it makes it any easier to deal with the grief. But it was also a relief to know he was no longer in pain.
See, his body maxed out. He was as sharp as a whip until the end. When I visited him in hospice, he was telling me stories about when him and my grandma met and the address they lived in over 60 yrs ago!! That was well before my time yet, I can't remember my last three addresses to fill in applications. He was amazing in that way. He was truly a genius.
But his body was not as strong. My grandfather left a legacy behind but in his final days I witnessed how crucial our physical bodies are. Which was another reminder of how much I am in love with my body.
My body is my partner in crime.
It's the only thing besides my mind, that has been, and will continue to be, on the entire journey with me.
People, material things, careers, are what we use to define our lives and who we are but they are constantly changing as we go through phases. Our bodies change but are with us from day one until our last breath.
It's allowed me to do so many of the things I love and enjoy about life. Catching myself saying "I am in love with my body" I realized how much I take my body for granted. It's not perfect, but it's mine, and I am grateful for every little piece. Each part plays a crucial role in my existence.
I wake up every morning and start my day off immediately with a walk so I don't have time to talk my mind out of it. But that's all my body, my legs, my arms, my feet, my toes, my ankles, moving me through my morning routine. And starting my day by waking up my body, puts my mind in the right mood for the day.
They are connected and caring for ones ultimately is taking care of both my mind and body.
Our bodies are our partners just like in a marriage. Our bodies and minds work together as a team, compliment one another, and communicate, but in a silent manner. Our bodies physically carry us through our days. They are our temples, essential to life & to maintain human existence. There is a balance between the mind and the body. Both require care, love, and attention since they are partners and equally essential in life.
I am in love with my body.
This is the real me.
Yours truly,
JRiggin
